About UKUnpublished
UKUnpublished was originally conceived in 2005 by David Buttle, who heard of the difficulty Authors can face to get their work published.
After a lot of research he found that the other most common option, Self Publishing, could be very expensive, even including those who appear to offer reasonably priced service, but hidden within the website are additions that many Authors would require, or believe is invaluable.
After more research, the first incarnation of the UKUnpublished idea was to produce eBooks in an attempt to make them a more popular medium. However, due to the use of DRM (Digital Rights Management) by traditional publishers and others, it is thought that the eBook has been held back in development and popularity.
Unfortunately it appeared impossible to offer a service of value, and so the idea was shelved.
In 2008, David found an article that was written by Cole Morton in 2007, which encouraged him to look again at the UKUnpublished idea, he found a printer who was able to produce books at a reasonable price, on a print on demand basis, which is added to the original service.
From that, UKUnpublished was born, and the launch of the website on 8th October 2008 began the journey that published 16 books by the end of 2009.
2009 saw the launch of UKBookland, which sells all of the UKUnpublished books at the best prices it possibly can, Free Standard UK Delivery, and the option of Courier Delivery, for a low price per order (no matter how many books are ordered!).
